I'm Charlene Homan, a writer, editor and founder of Touchstone Storytelling LLC, established in Bloomington, Illinois, in 2015.

I've spent much of my career helping people and organizations communicate their stories. With more than 20 years of experience in writing, corporate communications, public relations and development, I understand how powerful the right words can be.

Through Touchstone Storytelling, I've had the privilege of helping more than 25 individuals preserve their personal and family histories. Every project has reinforced something I deeply believe: You don't have to live an extraordinary life to have an extraordinary story.

Sometimes the most meaningful stories are found in everyday moments — a family tradition, a childhood adventure, a difficult decision, a cherished relationship or a lesson learned along the way.

My role is to listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions and help you turn those memories and experiences into something lasting.

In addition to my work with Touchstone Storytelling, I am a freelance writer, editor, book coordinator and communications professional. I'm also a co-founder and board member of The ExtraOrdinary Women Project BN, an organization dedicated to recognizing and celebrating women's stories and their impact on our community.

I earned my bachelor's degree in English from Eastern Illinois University, with minors in Journalism and Public Relations.

But beyond my professional experience, what matters most is the connection I build with the people whose stories I help tell.

I believe the process should be personal, collaborative, enjoyable and meaningful.

I work with clients locally and long-distance through in-person meetings, video calls, phone conversations and shared documents.
